Outline of day:
A group of 18 students from Isambard Kingdom Brunel technology college in Keynesham are confirmed for Monday 27 June – the broad outline of the day is to show them the wide range of career options available in NR, delivered through activities in / around Bristol.
Students will gain an appreciation of the different career options, have the chance to talk to someone who has been through the apprenticeship scheme and take away a bag with NR material on the career opportunities available.
Agenda (order TBC)
1.) Behind the scenes tour of Bristol Temple Meads
2.) A view of network operations. In discussion with local MOM team and LOM about a tour of a MOM vehicle with overview of the MOM role, and a trip to Bristol Panel.
3.) My story – from apprenticeship scheme to permanent role. A brief talk by a female apprentice on her experience of the apprentice scheme and subsequent career journey in NR with opportunity for students to ask questions about what the scheme is really like form someone who has been there / done that.
4.) Time lapse footage of Parsons Street / Filton Bank recent works
5.) 3D Suite at Temple Point. John Nolan will show the students the 3D suite and what it is used for.
6.) Departure – Students will leave with a NR bag containing promotional material on the apprenticeship scheme, graduate scheme etc.
