Inside the Department for Transport: Introduction to Commercial

Young Rail Professionals, in partnership with the Department for Transport, is excited to announce our Inside the Department for Transport: Introduction to Commercial seminar, as part of the Rail Week initiative.

The Government’s role in the rail industry is commonly seen within the context of policy; however, there is a large commercial element of the Department for Transport’s remit.

You are invited to explore the inner workings of the Department for Transport across four key commercial areas within rail:

– Rail Franchising
– Private Finance in Rail
– Rail as a Catalyst for Development and Regeneration
– Government Project Appraisal

This seminar will give you an introduction to these four topics and allow you to ask questions.

Each presentation will be delivered by one of the Department’s commercial graduates, and a Senior Civil Servant from each area will answer questions on that subject.

6.15pm – 8.20pm: Presentation and discussion
8.20pm – 9:00pm: Informal networking and drinks reception
