Thames Valley Signalling Centre is responsible for signalling trains from Paddington in the East, all the way to the Welsh border in the West including many key cities including Reading and Bristol.
This visit will give you a great insight into the complexities of signalling thousands of trains across a large network and see the recent progress of Network Rail’s signalling and infrastructure investment programme particularly in the Bristol and Oxford areas.
Subject to availability, there will also be an opportunity to have a go on the signalling simulator to get a hands-on experience of signalling trains.
This event is ideal for young people considering a career in rail, particularly an operational role with Network Rail or one of the many train operators, or those existing railway professionals wishing to expand their knowledge of Network Rail signalling team and the modernisation of its infrastructure.
Note: We will meet at Didcot Parkway railway station at 17:45, to take the short walk to TVSC. Please bring a form of photographic ID with you when you attend this event.
To book your slot; use the following link to register. We give preference to those that don’t currently work for the industry so you’re booking will be confirmed nearer the time.
