Why attend the ‘Transforming London’ event?
The rail sector in the UK is undergoing a major renaissance and three major UK employers – Hitachi, Bombardier and Transport for London – have joined forces to create a one day event at the London Transport Museum to attract the next generation to careers in Rail.
With sustained growth in passenger numbers, record levels of investment and brand new rail routes, such as Crossrail and HS2, the rail sector is second to none in the diversity and scope of career opportunity it currently offers. The next generation is crucial to the sustained growth of the sector, which is currently seeking to attract 30,000 new apprentices over the next decade.
There are a wide range of careers on offer, from train design and engineering to marketing, communications, project management and services.
Targeted towards students aged 12-16 considering their future career paths, this is a unique opportunity to meet graduates, apprentices and senior personnel currently working in the rail sector, including representatives from global technology leaders Bombardier Transportation and Hitachi Rail Europe as well as the leading London transport operator, Transport for London
