Ambassadors

Young people working in rail find that it is a fantastic place to have a career – and not a common career, but one than can make a huge impact on peoples’ lives.

It’s a great industry that offers so much potential!

Through getting involved in Rail Week events you can get first-hand experience of how we deliver millions of passenger journeys every day.

But if you can’t take time out to go on a visit, our Rail Week Ambassadors are ready to come into the classroom to help explain more about what it’s like to work in rail.

Our Rail Week Ambassadors can explain to young people what it’s like to be involved in planning and operating rail services and designing future railways, trains and stations in order to help passengers (just like you) make their journeys. We’re confident we can provide an engaging session wherever you may be for any age group!

Rail Week Ambassadors come from all walks of life, from engineers to operators, transport planners to financial analysts, project managers, station managers and train controllers and from a range of companies in every region of the UK.

We’ve partnered with Young Rail Professionals to provide Rail Week Ambassadors into schools.

The Young Rail Professional Ambassador Programme won the Best Training and Development Programme 2014 at the Rail Exec Most Interesting awards. All our Ambassadors are full of enthusiasm and committed to encourage young people to enjoy STEM subjects – opening a door to a world of opportunities in Rail.

Our Rail Week activities can range from a 20 minute presentation to a 1 hour introductory session or even a 3 hour interactive activity challenge, providing between 2 and 5 ambassadors to come into your school.
