The Integrated Control Centre at Swindon is home to Network Rail, Great Western Railway and Hitachi teams who are responsible for the minute-by-minute management of the Great Western Railway train service and the infrastructure across the Western route of Network Rail, working closely with local operations and delivery teams and the signallers at other locations.
You’ll have a guided tour of the Control Centre floor, learning about the different roles that are undertaken and how these work together to provide a punctual train service and manage disruption that may impact those trains. The team is also responsible for ensuring our customers are kept up to date with service alterations.
This event is ideal for young people considering a career in rail, particularly in an operational role with Network Rail or one of the many train operators, or those existing railway professionals wishing to expand their knowledge of the Control team and how they work with the wider operational, engineering and planning teams.
Note: Please bring a form of photographic ID with you when you attend this event.
